John Gummer began his schooling at Holy Trinity C of E Primary School in Brompton from where he went to the Kings School in Rochester. He was an Exhibitioner at Selwyn College, Cambridge, where he read History, was President of the Cambridge Union and Chairman of the Conservative Association. John Gummer is first and foremost a constituency MP and very much enjoys that part of Parliamentary life. In that role he is campaigning against plans to reduce the level of coastal protection along our 74 miles of coast. At the centre of his concern at the moment is the improvement of NHS services in Suffolk. He is also lobbying for an A12 bypass for the villages of Farnham and Stratford St Andrew.
